Adri has built and great team and feels lucky for all the hard work the team puts in. Adri has years of experience in all aspects of hairdressing and before owning her own salon Adri was managing for several years.
After years of experience what’s your favourite part to hairdressing?
I love cutting as the focus required for precision cutting can create a sense of relaxation and becomes very therapeutic, it doesn’t feel like work! I also love how you can create something instantly and really see a change unlike colouring were you have to wait for the outcome.
What made you want to become a hairstylist?
I always wanted to do hair from a child. I remember walking through Queen Square and I saw all of the punk rockers and I thought they’re hair looked amazing and wanted to be able to do that.
What made you want to become a salon owner?
The salon I was working in closed and I saw the opportunity to open my own. Transitioning from a job to opening my own salon was a fantastic opportunity to turn my dream into a reality. Taking the leap to create my own salon allowed me to bring a vision to life and be able to run the salon how I wanted to.
What route did you take to start your career?
I started as a Saturday girl at 13 years old and then started an apprenticeship progressing from there.
What is your least favourite part of your job?
We all have parts of our job that we love and parts we dislike and my least favourite part is the admin work. While administrative work is essential I prefer the creative part to owning a business.
If you wasn’t a hairdresser what career path would you choose?
I would probably take up an acting career. Love the drama.
What is your top tip for great hair?
I would say go to a great salon and get the best advice just for you.

Is there any hair trends that you love?
I will always love bobs/ French bobs. The art of cutting bobs requires precision and concentration and the precision work involved in cutting bobs is an amazing skill. As a hairstylist I appreciate the techniques used to cut short hair as there’s so much creativity, concentration and techniques put into these cuts.
If you had to have one hair colour for the rest of your life what would it be?
I’ve had so many colours so its hard to decide I’ve been blonde, different reds and browns but I would say a chocolate brown.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I worked as salon Manager on the cruise ships for 2 1/2 years which provided so many unique opportunities.
